Competition Calendar
Meets
Below is a list of upcoming meets Phoenix Aquatics swimmers are expected to attend. Official meet information and wider competition calendars can be found via Swimming NZ and Fastlane.
Please check with your coach for guidance on which events to enter. This helps make sure your swimmer’s programme is balanced and aligned with their goals.
This page will be updated regularly throughout the season. You will also receive regular updates from PA concerning upcoming meets including notification of the deadline for entering. If you are not receiving these messages please contact Ruby Matthews.
Volunteering
Swim meets rely on club volunteers, including timekeepers and qualified officials. Each club is asked to provide volunteers at the meets they attend. If your swimmer is competing, we ask families to let us know if they are available to help for at least one session. This support is incredibly important — meets cannot run without enough volunteers, and official times may not be ratified.

Commonwealth Games Bronze — Glasgow 2026
The Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games have wrapped up — and Phoenix Aquatics has plenty to celebrate.
Congratulations to Hazel (Vanessa) Ouwehand, who claimed a bronze medal in the 50m butterfly for New Zealand at Tollcross — a superb result and a testament to the hard work, dedication and excellence that define the Phoenix Aquatics programme, guided by Phoenix Head Coach David Lyles.
She also reached the 100m butterfly final, going through as 7th fastest qualifier in 58.56 and finishing 8th — two finals and a medal from a single Games. We could not be prouder of the way she and David represented New Zealand and Phoenix Aquatics on the world stage, and there is no better inspiration for the swimmers coming through our squads. You can relive the 50m butterfly final using the link below.
